ACTIVITIES TO DO WITH YOUR CAT
Cats aren't as active as dogs, but that doesn't mean they don't require quality time with their owners. Did you know that if cats aren't stimulated enough, they can become irritable? Here is a list of activities you can do with your cat to keep them healthy and bond with them.
1. Walk Your Kitty
On A Leash Leash walking isn't just for dogs. If you keep your feline companion inside all day, every day, you should consider taking them for walks every now and then. Leash walking gives you complete control over where and when your cat goes, allowing you to properly supervise and keep them safe. It may take some time to train your cat to walk on a leash.
It is preferable to begin when they are young so that they can become accustomed to it. If they are extremely stressed, do not force them to walk on a leash.
2. Play hide-and-seek
These games bring out the predatory instincts in cats. Hide behind a couch, bed, or workstation. Cats will pursue you as if you were prey. Attach one of your cat's stuffed toys to a string and wiggle it under the blanket as an alternative. Most cats are unable to resist attempting to catch the moving toy.
3. Hunting for Food
Cats, like dogs, have a natural desire to hunt for food. You can hide small amounts of food or treats around the house and let your cat find them on his or her own or with your help. It'll be a hit with your cat!
4. Television viewing
It's amazing how much cats adore televisions! You and your cat can cuddle up on the couch and watch TV shows about birds, rodents, and fish, which are natural prey for felines. It is an excellent way for both of you to relieve boredom and stress.
5. Feather & String
Waving feather wand toys for your cats, such as the Categories Flutter Flyer and Glow Tail Wand, are excellent interactive toys. They imitate bird movements, giving your cat opportunities to "hunt." The stimulating game requires your cat to leap into the air and attempt to catch a flying object with its paws. Make sure you choose a safe, open area of your home so your cat does not fly into any furniture and injure themselves.
6. Catnip toys
Catnip is a natural aphrodisiac for cats. Catnip toys are therefore always a good idea. Wild Instincts toys are filled with 100 percent pure catnip and come in a variety of shapes that will appeal to cats of all stripes, including butterflies, moths, and dragonflies. Introduce Mad Cat toys to your cats if you want to up their catnip game.
These fun plush cat toys contain a potent combination of premium catnip and silvervine, a non-toxic, all-natural catnip alternative that works for many cats who are normally unaffected by catnip. Give Mad Cat to your cat and watch them go crazy!
7. Cardboard boxes or paper bags
It's no surprise that cats adore paper bags and cardboard boxes. If your cat gets bored with their old toys and you don't have the money to buy them new ones, you can always give them cardboard boxes, paper shopping bags, and packing paper to encourage them to explore with their paws.
They'll be entertained for hours, and you'll have fun watching them. When your cat is playing with toys or everyday household items, make sure to keep an eye on him.
