5 Super Healthy Foods Pregnant Women Should Eat

Are you trying to conceive or are you already pregnant? Let me emphasize the importance of nutrition during pregnancy. 5 Super Healthy Foods Pregnant Women Should Eat will provide you and your baby with numerous health benefits and will help get him or her off to the best possible start.

This is my second pregnancy, and I am six months pregnant. I wasn't as concerned about food when my son was born almost 5 years ago. I didn't limit my sugar intake and ate ice cream nearly every day! I didn't know half of what I know now about processed foods and how harmful they are to your health.

After years of research and investigation into nutrition, I am much more aware of the choices I must make to keep my pregnancy as healthy as possible. Our family's eating habits have also improved, which influences the food choices we make. I now understand why I should limit my sugar intake; sugar is extremely harmful to both mom and baby. You can have a treat now and then, especially if you're craving sweets, but try to keep your sugar intake to a minimum. This list of 5 Super Healthy Foods Pregnant Women Should Eat will help you avoid sugar by substituting healthier snacks like nuts.

So I compiled a list of my 7 Super Healthy Foods Pregnant Women Should Eat and their associated health benefits. If you are trying to conceive, now is the time to start nourishing your body and preparing to provide your baby with all the nutrients she or he requires. I'm also including some of my recipes to give you ideas for incorporating these superfoods into your weekly menus. Make sure you're taking a good prenatal supplement.

1. Avocadoes

With this pregnancy, this is probably my favorite superfood. I've become addicted! Avocados are one of the world's most delicious foods. Avocados are high in healthy fats, fiber, and folic acid, making them excellent for skin and brain health. Simple to include in salads, as a dip (guacamole), or in sauces. Did you know that avocados are also an excellent first food for babies? Please see my recipe for Spaghetti Squash with Raw Pesto Avocado Sauce. This is a great way to get a lot of vegetables into one super-nutritious meal.

2. Salmon

DHA is essential for pregnant women. Salmon contains omega-3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA, which have been shown to support the healthy development of the brain, cognitive function, and vision in babies. Salmon is low in mercury because it is not a long-living predator fish, but to be safe, limit salmon to no more than 4 to 6 ounces a few times a week.

3. Water from Coconut

Drinking Coconut Water, which is high in antioxidants, essential vitamins, magnesium, and potassium, will boost your immunity during pregnancy. It will also aid digestion and constipation, both of which are common pregnancy symptoms. It also helped me with my morning sickness during the first three months. Because of its high electrolyte content, coconut water is the best natural hydration. Making ice pops out of coconut water is a great way to make a healthy snack at home.

4. Spinach

Great source of folate, which is essential in pregnancy. Spinach is also high in vitamin C, which helps the immune system fight bugs and germs. Excellent source of fiber and calcium, which can aid in constipation and the development of strong bones. Eat it raw if possible to preserve all of the nutrients, but be cautious and thoroughly wash it. You can also create a delectable raw pesto sauce.

5. Quinoa

Quinoa, as a complete protein, is ideal for pregnant women. It has more protein than any other grain, as well as more unsaturated fats and fewer carbohydrates than most grains. Quinoa is also high in calcium, iron, phosphorus, B vitamins, and vitamin E. Quinoa is also high in folic acid, which aids in the growth and production of all cells.
